Sigurd Lewerence designed the Resurrection Chapel in 1915 for the Woodland Cemetery in Stockholm. A visitor approaches the chapel on foot along an impossibly long and strict allée. The formal and traditional entrance of the chapel is framed by the trees for the entire walk. Upon entering the chapel the axis that has been carefully established is casually
broken as the interior the building reorients itself ninety degrees to the left.
